The Washougal River frozen over behind my grandparents' home.

The well-fed ducks enjoying the cold water.

More ice floating down the river.

The view from my grandparents' deck.
My grandpa was helping keep the birds fed this weekend and we enjoyed watching the blue jays stuff their beaks with peanuts, fly off, and then come back for more.

We arrived home to a fair amount of snow-
pretty good for the Valley floor!

But when we woke up this morning, we were even more amazed!

We made the journey to Washougal this weekend to celebrate my dad's retirement from the Camas Mill and also for the Conner Family Christmas. The plan was to head home Saturday night, but the blizzard-like driving conditions kept us in town an extra day. We chained up Sunday morning and made the slow trek home across Portland.

Thanks for the tip on the boots. Dan thinks the snow will be gone before we get much use out of them, but I think he is crazy =). It seems like we will have this snow FOREVER!!
