Anacortes

We just returned from a 5 day trip to the Puget Sound.
We camped at the La Conner Thousand Trails
but spent our days with my grandparents on their boat in Anacortes.
We met up with them at Cap Sante Boat Haven.
Drew quickly found many new inspirations for his drawing journal.
Audrey enjoying a "swing" my grandpa put together for her.
The kids spent many hours "practicing" fishing.

Their favorite place to be was up on the front deck though.
My grandpa teaching the kids a new trick.
One rainy morning we headed up to Cap Sante to take in the view.

On our last full day we spent some time at the campground.
I've always loved finding the little crabs under the rocks.
Drew spotted some "seashells" in a tree!
Wait... those aren't seashells... Eeeww!
A quick game of horseshoes with the Skagit Bay in the background.
That afternoon, we chased my grandparents down the Sound in pursuit of Jake's sunglasses...
My grandparents traveled home in their boat, and we followed by way of the Keystone Ferry.
The kids loved the ferry ride - we rode up front taking in all the sights!
We finally caught up with my grandparents at their home marina- Pleasant Harbor. It was a quick visit, but we did have time to spot some sea stars and some giant jellyfish!
Back in Port Townsend, we parked the car in the Ferry holding area and made a mad dash across town for some Elevated Ice Cream.
Mmmm... it wouldn't be an official trip to Port Townsend without it!
The ferry ride home was a little colder...

but there was a beautiful sunset!
Can't wait 'til next year!
