The kids are taking a series of clay workshops through our new cultural center. For week one they made beads and "snack bowls".
They learned how to roll the clay into a ball, make a hole with their thumb, and then shape the sides of the bowl with their fingers.
They each got to shape 2 bowls and then paint them.
They were very serious about their work the whole time and are now anxious for their new bowls to come out of the kiln so they can bring them home. I can't think of many better ways to spend $8 and the kids had a great time!
